“The All West/Select Sires pocket book has changed a bit over the years, but the purpose stays the same! We have three styles of these, and to this day, we’ll use the books to record events, including breedings…one page per day. So even though we’ve had DairyComp 305 since 1986, we still have a handwritten record. My dad used these books in 1979, which was the year he moved from the Ontario/Chino area to our current location in Riverdale (Fresno County), CA. Dad tends to hold on to things for a long time, so we have cow cards going back to the 60s, and bull books to the 70s. It’s quite a museum!”
