Sandy-Valley BUSHMAN-ET (VG-87)
Comestar Stormatic-ET x Ricecrest Bwood Brianne-ET (VG-88-GMD-DOM)
x (VG-87-GMD-DOM) Southwind Bell of Bar-Lee This high-ranking
TPI sire is a big-time production sire that sires medium-sized
dairy cows with exceptional feet and legs and great rear udders
- the right size cow to work well in today's free-stall operations.
BUSHMAN moves right into Select's top 5 for Net Merit and
he is in the top 10 at Select for both Milk and Protein. His
Reliability for Type just misses the 80% Reliability needed
to make the Holstein Association Official Top 100 TPI list.
His +1822 TPI would have ranked him among the top-15 sires
in the breed. BUSHMAN is an ideal mating on 7HO6758 MR SAM,
7HO6349 BEST and 7HO7872 ADVENT-RED daughters.

Norrielake Cleitus Luke-TW . Also a Super Sampler graduate,
REGIS enters the active lineup with a 90% Reliability proof
right out of the chute. REGIS offers a little different sire
stack to our lineup and with +1,222 Milk, he will likely be
the highest Milk Roy son among active A.I. His Duster dam
was a really rugged, powerful cow, and was the highest producing
cow in a 1,000-cow dairy at the time REGIS was born. REGIS
sires very shapely shallow udders with perfect teat size and
placement.

Pine-Shelter LOGAN IRON-ET (VG-85)
Boss Iron-ET x (VG-88-GMD-DOM) Carol Prelude Mtoto-ET x (EX-95-3E-EX-MS-DOM)
Plushanski Fargo-ET
LOGAN IRON and LARAMEE are the first two brothers
to get proofs out of a special Mtoto daughter, Pine-Shelter
Lariat-ET (VG-88-GMD-DOM). From an index standpoint, she exhibited
many traits that a great commercial cow should possess. She
was wide-chested and deep through her heart, carried a great
substance of bone and walked on super feet and legs. Her udder
was high and wide with a great crease. She was very strong
headed and aggressive, leading to her being the high 2-year-old
for milk production in the herd. She produced over 35,000
pounds as a junior 2-year-old running in a 450-cow slatted-floor,
free-stall barn. Quite unfortunately, Lariat had a bad drug
reaction and died very late in lactation. We also have an
O MAN Super Sampler in waiting out of Lariat. The grandam
was a Midwestern prolific show cow year in and year out, winning
numerous banners. Her highlight was being named the junior
show grand champion at World Dairy Expo in 1997. She was quite
the black beauty with, again, rock solid feet and legs and
a beautiful, open rib cage.
Both LOGAN IRON and LARAMEE have some of the same type characteristics.
The sires of these two, Boss Iron and Morty were selected
to mirror the mother's type pattern and they delivered. Daughters
of both bulls are smoother and stronger made with great feet
and legs and high, wide rear udders. LOGAN IRON is extremely
better on components and LARAMEE daughters have a nicer front
end, a tad more style throughout and a clean-boned hock for
his pedigree.
With a 7HO5157 DURHAM-free pedigree and high-type proofs,
they will match up well with DURHAM offspring. Customers that
care about strong breeding patterns and lowering Somatic Cell
counts from trouble-free cows will fall in love with daughters
from both bulls for different reasons.
LARAMEE:
o +1762 TPI, a top-30 sire
o Elite Type at +3.47
o +1.99 UDC and +3.55 FLC
o 7HO2236 ELTON-free pedigree
LOGAN IRON:
o Total outcross sire stack, 7HO2236 ELTON-free pedigree
o High components: +.10%F and +.01%P
o Elite fitness traits: 2.54 SCS, +3.2 PL and +1.2 DPR

7JE1000
Richies Jace TBONE A364
7JE535 JACE x (VG-86%) Lemvig x 7JE386 DECLO
Select Sires prides itself on supplementing its solid Program
for Genetic Advancement (PGA) sampling program
with other proven sires of high genetic merit. Such is the
case this time with 7JE1000 TBONE, a proven JACE son from
Sexing Technologies. The sampling of this bull was achieved
through the use of sexed semen in the early stages of the
company's business. The bull was always a high-Parent Average
young sire and had tremendous on-farm fertility, thus making
him quite popular in the sexing arena. In fact, TBONE has
more than 1,600 registered daughters, with more to come, therefore
he is a very well nationally sampled sire. Currently ranked
No. 3 in the breed for Jersey Performance Index (JPI)
at +267, TBONE is the complete package. Components plus yield
allow him to rank No. 2 in the breed for Cheese Merit at +$550.
His 48 daughters in 14 herds are scattered across six states
in the U.S. from coast to coast. The pedigree alone has always
intrigued people as this early JACE son is out of a former
No. 1 JPI cow, Richies Lemvig Star M109 (VG-86%). She lived
in Texas at the large commercial operation of Nico deBoer
under herdsman Richard Wubs' care. First calving at 1-9 and
making 1,278 pounds of fat, she then calved back at 2-9 and
made over 30,000 pounds of milk, 1,764 pounds of fat and 1,240
pounds of protein while scoring Very Good (86%). The DECLO
grandam died at calving, but the Excellent (92%) great grandam,
Pancho Star, has had tremendous production with 29,340 pounds
of milk, 1,575 pounds of fat and 1,019 pounds of protein.
The family spells production and this instant sire father
will carry on those genes. After viewing several milking daughters,
the linear profile does a good job of outlining the daughters
- exceptional dairy strength, adequate capacity, with great
rear udder, udder cleft and very nice teat placement. TBONE
is the ideal cross on the numerous fancy 7JE590 ACTION daughters
throughout the country.
o Exciting new No. 3 JPI and No. 2 CM$
bull of the breed
o Perfect mating sire for future replacements, especially
from ACTION dams
o Tremendous sample of daughters yet to come
o JACE x Lemvig
the magical cross
o Herdlife Builder with gender SELECTed semen available
7JE739 MVF Barkly Juan 1107-ET
7JE488 BARKLY x (E-93%) Molly Brook Brass Major x (E-91%)
7JE159 SOONER
MVF Brass Major Juanita-ET (E-93%) strikes again. Great transmitting
cows have multiple sons sampled in A.I. Select is fortunate
to have found this cow now with two proven sons in the lineup,
MVF and 7JE707 JUAN. This BARKLY son mirrors his sire's success
with excellent milk production, adequate frames with quality
udders, and great health traits for today's modern cow. Dairy
producers often brag about how much they appreciate their
BARKLY daughters now that they are older cows, and MVF will
be no different. This AJCA NAILE syndicate-sampled bull makes
the trouble-free cow (Herdlife Builder and HealthMark labeled),
just ask the Fremstads in Wisconsin. They are milking five
MVF daughters, all with more than 20,000 pounds of milk as
2-year-olds and scoring Very Good in a large free-stall operation.
These daughters exemplify the moderate frames with very correctly
attached mammaries, fore and rear, and highly textured udders.
This quality stems back from the Excellent (91%) SOONER grandam,
Elmview Sooner J, who consistently made the Rhein family in
Pennsylvania great records, great daughters and now great
grandsons. This bull beautifully matches the Maid bloodlines
very prominent in Jersey dairies today.
o Two maternal brothers proven in MVF
and JUAN
o Balanced breeding just like you'd expect from a BARKLY son
o Will produce the trouble-free cow with high health and fitness
traits
o Exceptional mating on Maid bloodlines
o Herdlife Builder and HealthMark sire
7JE780 Galaxies INFLUENCE-ET
7JE535 JACE x (VG-88%) 7JE386 DECLO x (E-94%) Comfort Royal
Alf-ET
Welcome to the era of JACE sons. His genetic legacy has been
felt maternally for quite some time. Now paternally, you will
see some great sons come along and the third big-time winner
to the Select Sires proven program is 7JE780 INFLUENCE. This
exciting graduate has a cow family the breed has drooled over
for a long time. The grandam, Deerview Alf Galaxy-ET (E-94%),
caught the attention of the world with her awesome frame and
production ability (26,160 pounds of milk, 1,549 pounds of
fat and 938 pounds of protein). She was a daughter of Lester
Gurit, who would have been a 94- or 95-point cow had she not
died at such a young age. The Very Good (88%) DECLO dam of
INFLUENCE was also of the quality of greatness and now has
two Excellent (90%) daughters, one is a full sister to INFLUENCE.
A famous sister to Declo Galaxie is Excellent (94%) Montana
Galaxy, the high seller in the Sunny Day dispersal a few years
ago who also has sons at Select awaiting proofs. The G family
has numerous branches in numerous herds, all with great scores,
records and the desire for more like them. Once again, the
INFLUENCE daughters excel is dairy qualities with a flat,
deep rib, superior rear udders and well-placed teats - all
the right kind of combinations for the 7JE510 GOLDEN, 7JE667
JACINTO, 7JE620 MAXIMUS and 7JE605 MECCA daughters needing
bred. This bull has total customer satisfaction written all
over him.
