Select Sires added four recent legends to their “Impact Sires of the Breed” artwork, 7HO6417 O-Bee MANfred Justice-ET (EX-94-GM), 7HO8081 Ensenada Taboo PLANET-ET (EX-90-GM), 7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET (EX-94) and 7HO7004 Erbacres DAMION (EX-96). These sires have made a far-reaching impact on not only Select Sires, but the Holstein breed around the world. First introduced in 2007, the “Impact Sires of the Breed” artwork originally featured 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET (EX-90-GM), 7HO3948 MJR Blackstar EMORY-ET (EX-97-GM), 7HO2236 Emprise Bell ELTON (EX-95), 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET (VG-86-GM), 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET (EX-95-GM), 7HO1897 To-Mar BLACKSTAR-ET (EX-93-GM), 7HO980 Walkway Chief MARK (VG-87-GM), 7HO477 GLENDELL Arlinda Chief (EX-93-GM), 7HO543 Carlin-M Ivanhoe BELL (EX-93-GM) and 7HO58 Round Oak Rag Apple ELEVATION (EX-96-GM). Last week, at Select Sires’ National Sales Conference, the updated print was revealed to employees and guests. “This artwork was developed to recognize the many Select Sires bulls that have made a lasting impact in the Holstein breed, leaving a legacy of great sons and grandsons, as well as some of the breed’s greatest cows and cow families,” said Charlie Will, manager of the Holstein sire program for Select Sires. “We added O MAN, PLANET, ADVENT-RED and DAMION to the print because of their current impact on the Holstein breed. O MAN has been the breed’s fitness leader. PLANET has been able to moderate stature and is a high production, outcross sire. ADVENT-RED continues to be a dominant tanbark Red and White sire while DAMION was, for a long time, the highest Type sire at 99% Reliabilty setting the bar to which other type bulls are compared.” The Select Sires “Impact Sires of the Breed” artwork is available as a giclée (digital print used as fine art) or a paper print in two different sizes.
