All West/Select Sires was briefly known as Evergreen Northwest Breeders from 1955 to 1963. The item pictured here was from that era.

Our question would be what was this artifact’s purpose?

Why would it be made of thin gauge metal and have a small hole punched near the top?

Please let us know your assumptions

RJ Rupard of Ephrata, WA, posted this guess.

 Do you agree?

Did you know of anyone who used this?

The artifact is a sign farmers would put by the road to let the route man know semen was wanting to be purchased, my grandpa Sam Rupard still had one.  RJ Rupard
