Andy Collman is our newly elected All West/Select Sires District 15 Director, although he is no stranger to leadership in this cooperative. Andy has served as the delegate of District 15 since 2015 and is now stepping in to the role of director.

Andy represents the true family farm at Oregon’s Moore Dairy, home of Cloud Cap Holsteins. The dairy was established in 1924 by Andy’s father-in-law’s grandfather, who came to the U.S. from Switzerland. Andy began working as a dairy producer there twenty years ago after marrying his wife, Melissa, and the couple joined the business as partners in 2016. The herd originally consisted of 200-head of Registered Holsteins, and has expanded in recent years to include Jersey, Brown Swiss, and Milking Shorthorn cattle, purchased by Andy and Melissa. They have been very successful since becoming certified organic and have received the Gold Award for milk quality the past two years.

“I’ve enjoyed being part of the All West leadership team for the past six years and felt it was time to take the next step to continue learning. I especially respect this cooperative because I appreciate good genetics and what All West/Select Sires is doing for the A.I. industry and the dairy industry as a whole,” said Andy.

Andy and Melissa have been married for 20 years and have four children; Liz (15), Autumn (13), Hailey (11) and Will (9), who are kept busy with many chores on the farm and extracurricular activities. Both Andy and Melissa are very involved in their local 4-H program. Andy is also on the board of directors for the Oregon Holstein Association and has sat on the Organic Valley Dairy Executive Committee. The family enjoys hunting, fishing, riding horses, and raising barnyard animals together.

Thank you for continuing your leadership, Collman Family!
