Rodney Paulo

Burlington, WA-All-West Select Sires is pleased to announce the addition of Rodney Paulo to the team as a Dairy Programs Specialist.  In this role, Rodney will be doing direct-herd sales, and also evaluating cows and providing profitable reproductive recommendations to All West member/owners through the Select Mating Service (SMS) Program.  “My goal in this new position and role within All West/Select Sires is to use my knowledge, expertise and experience to help others achieve their breeding goals.  I also hope my familiarity with the genomic/genetic formulas and how sire stacks and cow families transmit can help others with their decisions on how best to use the products available from All West.”

Rodney has been a vital member of the California dairy industry for years.  A former high individual at the California FFA Judging Competition in 1985, Rodney attended Cal Poly before he and his brother, Ed, took over the family operation of Paulo-Bro Holsteins & Jerseys in Hanford, CA.  A nationally-respected herd, Paulo-Bro Holsteins & Jerseys have sent several bulls to A.I. and participated in three, high-profile Top 10 Breeders Sales, as well as hosting The Pinnacle of Paulo-Bro Sales in 2008, 2012 and 2013.  Paulo-Bro has bred almost 300 homebred Excellent cows and close to 1500 Very Good cows over the years, including Paulo-Bro-SP Shar-Red, the Res. All-American 5-Year-Old Red Cow for 2014 and Paulo-Bro Damion Candle, the Res. Grand Champion of the Western Spring National in Utah.

“As a dairyman, my breeding objective was always to breed every cow for a resulting calf that is better and more profitable than its dam was.  I will carry that passion into my daily work with All West customers!”

Prior to starting with the company in July, Rodney served on the All West/Select Sires Executive Board for two years, and before that was both a delegate and director for his cooperative district.  He and his wife, Kari, have two grown children; daughter Lacee (26) and son Shae (24).
