It is with great excitement that we announce the hiring of Alex Werkhoven! Alex began his career with All West/Select Sires as our newest Dairy Program Specialist on July 6, 2021. He will be serving producers in All West’s Oregon and Washington states.
Alex was born and raised on a dairy in Monroe, Washington. He left the farm to attend Dordt University and graduated with a degree in Agribusiness in 2018. He has spent the past three years working in the agricultural lending industry, primarily financing dairy farms located in the Pacific Northwest.
Alex recently became interested in returning to the dairy industry and learning more about artificial insemination, in particular. This led him to ask a local technician if he could follow along on his route on the weekends to explore the career path, which in turn, led him to us. Although this will be his first time working in the A.I. industry, we are confident that Alex’s familiarity with technology and relationships already formed with local dairy producers will make him a valuable asset to our team.
All West/Select Sires Northwest Sales Administrator, Karl Krangnes commented,“I could not be more pleased to have Alex joining the All West team as our new Dairy Program Specialist. His in-depth knowledge of finance, proficient computer skills, and ability to find solutions to issues that arise on a dairy make Alex a perfect fit for this position. In addition, I am confident that his pleasant personality will allow him to helpfully present solutions and discuss goals with our dairy customers.”
When Alex is not busy learning his new role with All West, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with his family on the farm.
“I am looking forward to building on my knowledge of the dairy industry and strengthening my relationships with the wide variety of dairy producers I have worked with in the past and will in the future,” says Alex.
Alex’s data-driven background, broad dairy experience, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn provides us confidence that he will serve our customers with the passion that is expected from the All West/Select Sires team. Welcome, Alex!
