The August graduating class delivered a “bumper crop,” large in numbers with a variety of pedigrees. This class added 14 new bulls sired by nine different sires, led by three each sired by 7HO8081 PLANET and Boliver. This class includes the two highest new Total Performance IndexSM (TPISM) and Net Merit (NM$) graduates, 7HO10524 ROBUST and 7HO10721 BOOKEM. Select also has the No. 1 TPI proven Red and White sire, the breed’s first Red and White sire over +2000 TPI, in 7HO10563 CARSON-RED. This high milk and high type sire is a perfect mating on 7HO7872 ADVENT-RED daughters and should be popular in the black and white population. “This graduating class added what we needed to meet commercial breeders’ needs with pedigree diversity, calving ease sires, moderate stature bulls, yet lots of milk with great udders and feet and legs,” says Charlie Will. Select also has the new No.1 GTPI genomic sire in the breed with 7HO12008 HALOGEN.
