Former Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer Gonzalez, worked her final day for All West/Select Sires in Mid-August 2021 before accepting a position with Sedron Technologies where she has since begun her new career.
Jennifer originally joined the All West Family as our Director of Finance in 2015. She was then promoted to the Chief Financial Officer position with All West/Select Sires and spent the last few years working closely with recently retired General Manager/CEO, Jim Wells, as well as our All West/Select Sires Board of Directors.
Although Jennifer’s departure was bittersweet, we were happy to promote former Senior Accountant Megan Forsman in to the position of Director of Finance for All West/Select Sires.
After high school, Megan attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. She then began working for Moss Adams and started focusing on the food and agriculture industry in 2014 after becoming interested in several farm returns.
Megan originally joined the All West Family in October 2019 as our Senior Accountant and worked diligently to assist former Chief Financial Officer, Jennifer Gonzalez.
Megan’s husband, Austin, works as an elementary school physical education teacher, and as a fishing charter guide in the summer months. The couple has two young sons, Hunter and Parker, and most recently welcomed their third baby, Sawyer Jason Forsman, to the family on September 2, 2021.
Although Megan is currently on maternity leave, she is continuing to fulfill her new job duties as often as possible from home and will assume more responsibilities when she returns. In addition, we have hired our newest All West family member, Kara Hurd, who began her new position as our Accounting Assistant on September 1, 2021.
Kara earned her AA degree from Skagit Valley College, where she focused on accounting. Although this is her first job in the agriculture industry, Kara comes to us with over 25 years of accounting experience. Most recently, our friend at Moss Adams, Brandon Hansen, introduced Kara to All West and our need for help in this department.
Kara has been married to her husband, Jack, for 21 years and the couple has three teenage children; Cody (19), Jace (18), and Taylor (16). When she is not busy with work and her kid’s activities, Kara enjoys watching movies, reading, shopping, and hiking.
Your All West/Select Sires accounting and finance team will continue to provide you and your cooperative with all of the functionalities to keep our cooperative running efficiently. Megan has already proven to be very intelligent, friendly, and hardworking in her time with us and we have no doubts that she will continue to provide excellent service in her new role. We were very thankful to have Kara join our team at the perfect time to assist Megan during this transition period.
