“7HO14160 LUSTER-P is one of my all-time favorites and also the most underrated bull that we have in our lineup right now, in my opinion,” said Dairy Program Specialist, Tony DeMello. “I think a lot of people simply forget about him because he’s polled, but he should not be overlooked by customers who want to dehorn less calves while maintaining their herd’s genetic level.”
“This bull checks all of the boxes. He has a good, unique pedigree. He’s sired by 7HO12669 ZIPIT-P who is a really good type bull with a limited amount of use. His mother, pictured below, is a 7HO12198 KINGBOY daughter and the next dam is a 7HO11351 SUPERSIRE. He is a fertility superstar who still has nice type (+2.20), with plenty of milk production (+887), great udders (+1.60), good feet and legs, and also has impressive components and calving ease (+2.3). He really solves a lot of problems for our producers!”
“The fertility on this bull has been extremely great and his +2.0 SCR has been evident in my experience using him. There are some herds where I have used him on problem breeding cows who seemed to not be able to get pregnant and had success with LUSTER-P. I personally had four cows I couldn’t get bred and they all got pregnant to him, as well! I’m a big fan of him for that, not to mention the calves produced look amazing! They are beautifully framed, healthy, hearty calves with super feet and legs.”
