This week during the National Jersey Convention in Amarillo, Texas, Bearl “Smokey” and Joanne Seals of Cloverdale, OR, will be recognized as the 70th recipient of the Master Breeder Award. For more than 55 years, Smokey has bred Registered Jerseys under the Sun Valley prefix…a prefix that has put more than 47 bulls into A.I. and an additional 21 bulls have come from Sun Valley dams. What makes this so special is that Smokey was an All West representative to the Select Jersey Sire Committee, as well as being a member of the AJCA Board of Directors and serving on the Board for Tillamook Cheese. We’re proud to have him representing the All West area in Texas this week!
