“Promoting bulls like 7AN466 RAINFALL and 14AN502 TAHOE have made this new journey a lot of fun. Tahoe progeny are dominating Oregon and California bull sales and I believe Rainfall is going to follow in his shoes. These two heavy hitters are balanced trait sires that simply meet the needs of commercial cattlemen in our region. Tahoe and Rainfall will be included in several of our A.I. projects this spring.

In January, I went on a trip through Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska. It was primarily a Simmental/SimAngus tour, but we saw lots of exciting progeny from Select Sires bulls. The main purpose of this trip was to see daughters of current A.I. sires since the females are the backbone of our business.

I was pleased to see so many 7SM80 WIDE RANGE daughters. They’re soggy, moderate cows who are raising big calves.

7SM104 BROAD RANGE progeny were at most of our ranch visits and it was easy to see why they’ve been sale toppers across the country. Breeders are impressed with the calving ease and performance of his calves, not to mention the mating flexibility Broad Range offers.

It was great to see 7SM97 IMPERIAL used by producers of black Simmental and SimAngus. Red or black, Imperial is exciting to me, by how he keeps cattle moderate with exceptional EPD’s. This may have been my favorite sire group.

Not surprisingly, we saw several standout Simangus calves sired by 7AN466 RAINFALL and 14AN502 TAHOE, as well.”
