As you were recently informed, the boards of directors of All West/Select Sires, COBA/Select Sires, Select Sires MidAmerica, and Minnesota/Select Sires voted unanimously to merge as one cooperative representing the Select Sires federation in 27 U.S. states and the country of Mexico. The new cooperative, Select Sires Member Cooperative (SSMC), will begin as of October 1, 2023.

Our Board of Directors met for the final time as All West/Select Sires at our Burlington, Washington headquarters office in September. At this meeting, they determined which board members from our current territory will now be representing farmer-owners of the new SSMC districts. Those members are: Dennis Areias (CA), Justin Borges (CA), Jonathon DeGroot (CA), Jerry Lanting (WA), Frank Leonardo (CA), Randy Kortus (WA), and Bob Vander Poel (CA).

On October 1, Select Sires Member Cooperative will consist of over 300 employees serving over 10,000 valued cooperative members. Among the many benefits of merging as one, Select Sires Member Cooperative will remain a farmer-owned-and-controlled cooperative led by fellow producers.
